Industry and occupational research

Includes:

  • Economic or industry outlook studies which focus on specific industries, industry clusters, or the overall economy
  • Industry sector analyses which provides a critical first-step for industry sector initatives
  • Occupational outlook projects/reports which identify and profile demand occupations

Economic and industry outlook studies may focus on the overall economy in a given region, or on industry clusters, or on specific industries or sectors. These studies often include designing and conducting surveys to learn about the workforce needs and characteristics of employers, as well as clear identification of challenges and recommendations based on the research findings. Industry sector analyses also provides a foundation for industry sector initatives which bring together employers and the workforce development community to identify common interests and solve common problems. Below are five sample reports to illustrate a few of the industry research projects we've conducted. Note that a couple of these projects were conducted in association with Craft Consulting Group.

Occupational outlook projects gather information and "profile" occupations - e.g. what they do, what they pay, and what they require. The selection of occupations to be researched and profiled varies from project to project. Sometimes the occupations profiled reflect in-demand occupations. Othertimes the occupations profiled are based on certain industries or sectors. Below are five sample reports to illustrate a few of the occupational research projects we've conducted.
